Hi, I’m William and welcome to my website.

I’d like to tell you a little of how I work as a therapist. At the core of my philosophy on counselling and psychotherapy is my belief in the capacity of the individual to heal and grow through their issues.
I offer a compassionate, non-judgemental environment in which the client may begin to clarify their issues and move forward in the direction they feel is right for them. The counselling relationship is vital in this.
By listening to the plight of the individual, together we can make the most of this opportunity to be curious about their life experience.

My counselling and psychotherapy practice is just outside Naas in Co. Kildare

With the development of this inner dialogue, we can begin to facilitate the client’s growth through self understanding. I don’t offer advice or coping strategies – we develop this between us. I have too much respect for the client’s own ability to create their own resolutions and foster a sense of empowerment within themselves.

It is central to my therapeutic beliefs that I work within the experiences that the client offers. Then we explore these together – the emotions, the beliefs, the behaviours and the experiences. Then the process of healing, resolution and clarity begins.

I bring honesty, respect, and curiosity about the client’s life to the counselling and psychotherapy relationship. In time, the client may feel it is ok to do the same. It may be around this time that they start to feel strong enough to act on what they’ve learned from counselling.

My undergraduate thesis was on the subject of depression and suicide in the Irish adult male and
this is one of my areas of interest in psychotherapy.

I hold a professional diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Bachelor of Science degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Middlesex University. I am a fully accredited member of the IACP (Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), hold professional indemnity insurance and I am Garda vetted.

I work face to face from a private room in Caragh village, which is a short drive from Naas (7 min.s) and Newbridge (11 min.s) in Co. Kildare. I also offer online counselling.
